The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation (AVMF) are accepting nominations for various veterinary awards until Feb. 1.

The awards are to recognize veterinarians and some nonveterinarians who have made important contributions to veterinary medicine or animal welfare.

Among the 14 awards are the Animal Welfare Award, Practitioner Research Award, Meritorious Service Award and Public Service Award. Prizes include money, travel expenses to the AVMA Annual Convention in St. Louis where the awards will be presented, or both.
