Robert Abady Dog Food Co., LLC recalls some boxes of cat food

The Robert Abady Dog Food Co., LLC, based in New York, announced it is recalling some boxes of Abady Highest Quality Maintenance & Growth Formula for Cats because of the potential for salmonella contamination.

According to the company's news release on the FDA website, the recalled boxes of cat food were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.

The recalled boxes are sold in weight increments of 2, 5, and 15 pounds. The company said that consumers can recognize the recalled corrugated boxes by plastic liners marked with lot #14029/21 stamped on the right side of the box.

The company reportedly discovered the potential for contamination during routine testing and has suspended production of the product while it works with the FDA to find the source of the problem.

Those who have purchased recalled food can return packages to the point of purchase and receive a full refund, the company said. Call 1-845-473-1900 with any questions about the recall.
