Canine and feline preventive healthcare guidelines now available

Where do you begin when it comes to implementing a preventive healthcare program in your practice? First, you’ll need preventive healthcare guidelines. Next, you have to know how to implement them. Luckily, both are now available free of charge to practices.

Partners for Healthy Pets (PHP), an alliance of 100+ veterinary associations, veterinary colleges, and animal health companies focused on preventive care led by AAHA and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), is offering complimentary canine and feline preventive healthcare guidelines (“Guidelines).

Developed jointly by AAHA and the AVMA, this one-page, double-sided, easy to use set of Guidelines provides information on the care and treatment of canine and feline patients. Practices can download the Guidelines free of charge.

PHP also walks practice owners and managers through a visual map in its “Getting Started” video. This video provides a high-level overview of the tools and process involved in implementation such as instructive videos and customizable tools including a team meeting guide, PowerPoints, and a practice action plan.

The tools and implementation process work together to help you inspire your team, clarify who does what, provide team training, and insure strong client relationships, all within the context of preventive healthcare.
