Eighty-three percent of cats are taken to the vet in the first year of ownership, yet over half of them don't return, according to the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). Here’s an opportunity to change that.

In honor of National Bring Your Cat to the Vet Day on Monday, Aug. 22, the AAFP is offering free, downloadable resources practices can use on their websites, via social media, and by posting in their practices to educate cat caregivers on the importance of routine check-ups.

Resources include a pre-visit checklist, tips for how clients can reduce their pet’s stress, and the benefits of routine visits.

Practices can also refer to the 2010 AAFP/AAHA Feline Life Stage Guidelines for more specific visit information.
