11 highest paying states for veterinarians identified

Whether you’re just graduating from veterinary school or recently sold your practice and want to do some moonlighting, you may want to consider heading to the east or west coasts, or an island beyond, according to some new statistics.

Insider Monkey, an evidence-based investment resource, recently released statistics on the 11 highest paying states for veterinarians, based on its analysis of the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Employment Statistics report.

The announcement was made on Oct. 3.

Hawaii offers the top annual salary, at $198,600, followed by New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, and Washington, DC. California comes in at $114,870, followed by Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts. Virginia is the last state on the list, with an annual income of $107,820.
