NEWStat 2017 survey results

The results of the NEWStat survey are in!

There’s no denying that 2016 was a tough year for many people, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t looking ahead to new opportunities. Two weeks ago, we posted a survey with one simple question: What are you looking forward to in 2017? We thought it would be a fun opportunity to see what NEWStat readers are planning to do in 2017 and how they can improve on 2016.

Answers to the survey could be divided into four broad categories: looking forward to personal time and achievements, looking to expand business, selling a veterinary practice, and using AAHA’s resources to keep improving.

Of those who responded, 35% of respondents mentioned hiring new members of the staff and increasing business. Those looking forward to personal achievements and AAHA resources came out even at 23%. Finally, 17% of respondents looked forward to selling their practice.

Here are some of our favorite answers:

“Growing! Helping more patients and clients see our clinic’s culture.”
—Megan Cantrell, Community Pet Healthcare

“Everyone migrating to one AAHA option for accreditation.”
—Taylor G., Mesa Veterinary Hospital

“I look forward to meeting my new grandson in early 2017!”
—Beth Montoya, CVPM, Hope Springs Veterinary Pembroke

“A good full week of vacation.”
—Joni Johnson, Avenue Animal Hospital

“Using VetFolio!”
—Jennifer Galvin, Advanced Animal Care

“Finding a fourth doctor; improving staff training and morale.”
—Janine Kakoyannis, CVPM, San Clemente Veterinary Hospital

“Following my heart and leaving my practice of 15 years that is being sold to corporate to start my own practice.”
—Andria Saxon, CVT, CVPM, BS, (for soon-to-be-named practice)

NEWStat wishes all our members a happy new year and we hope to continue helping all of you accomplish all your goals for 2017.
