Stephanie Jones, DVM

Stephanie Jones, DVM, is co-owner of the Animal Hospital of Ft. Lauderdale. A native of Arkansas, she received her bachelor’s degree in animal science from Texas A&M in 1994 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 1999. Jones moved to Ft. Lauderdale after graduation and joined the Animal Hospital of Ft. Lauderdale team in 2000. She has delivered outstanding veterinary care for over 20 years with a special interest in reproductive medicine and soft tissue surgery.

She also serves as president of the Broward County Veterinary Medical Association. Her platform promotes the welfare of animals, community involvement, continuing education, and self-care for veterinarians.

As a human-animal bond-certified veterinarian, Jones has worked to advance an understanding of the human-animal bond and its role in society by establishing Pets Help The Heart Heal, Inc., in 2019. This nonprofit is dedicated to using the human-animal bond to improve the social, physical, and emotional health of underserved youth and youth in foster care by promoting veterinary medicine, animal industry career exploration, and healing from trauma through events and activities.

Jones is a mentor to teens and provides a shadow program for high school and college students. She hopes that her love for animals and passion for her career sparks an interest in veterinary medicine and helps motivate today’s youth to reach for their dreams.
